Executive Summary

Underserved communities in remote geographical regions struggle with long-distance internet access. Together with a global leading telecommunication company based in South America, Billion transformed the jungle-like environment into a typical smart city by harnessing Billion BiPAC 4700ZU Outdoor LTE CPE. Local communities needed high-speed internet connection from the durable router that resist heavy rain and humidity, provide wide service coverage, and flexible deployment throughout the difficult terrains. Nearly a thousand units of this rugged LTE outdoor router were installed at local schools, hospitals, emergency medical stations, and police stations in Amazon jungle of Southern America to serve local communities an everlasting uninterrupted, robust and secured internet network.
Challenges
Over half of the planet’s rainforest is located in Amazon jungle. It naturally has a humid climate with heavy rainfall where no stable internet service discovered. The local communities urged to install a reliable LTE outdoor router which can withstand high rainfall intensity with dramatic temperature changes between day and night and support solid mounting for different pole diameter. They also required a broad-range radius network to cover the connectivity gap between base station and local area. Thus, the telecommunication company desires to help schools, hospitals, emergency stations, and police stations to always stay connected with internet world.

Our Solution

To deal with this situation, BiPAC 4700ZU LTE outdoor router was deployed in surrounding remote areas. BiPAC 4700ZU features direct dual-polarization MIMO antenna technology supporting multiple LTE frequency bands with data rate up to 100Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink to optimize antenna design per band and maximize bandwidth service coverage. BiPAC 4700ZU delivers powerful VPN including IPSec, PPTP, L2TP, and GRE for secured private data encryption over the public internet.


BiPAC 4700ZU can endure the toughest industrial environment with IP67 enclosure to protect against dust and water ingress and extensive range of operating temperature -40°C to 60°C (-40°F to 140°F). BiPAC 4700ZU has a lightweight, compact and unobtrusive design, so it can be flexibly positioned on any pole size with mounting kit.
