On Mt. Jade, Yushan Mountain, The Highest Mountain in Taiwan
Yushan weather station, at 3858m above sea level.
The Yushan weather station is for measuring and recording Meteorological elements, taken include temperature, atmospheric pressure, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, solar radiation, and precipitation amounts. All real-time data send to Central Weather Bureau in Taipei city automatically for analysis and providing a forecast.
Yearly average temperature on Yushan Mountain is 3.8 °C (38 °F). Especially it takes more than 7 hours to reach Yushan Weather Station on foot. Only in case of emergency, a helicopter is needed for timely maintenance. Therefore, communication equipment must be able to achieve a stable and reliable connectivity in this harsh environment, and cold temperature resistance of the equipment is essential.
