Billion Electric to Showcase LTE Remote Management System at Computex 2015

Billion Electric, one of the largest cellular CPE providers of business, industry and M2M solutions in the Asia-Pacific Rim, will be debuting the BEC LTE Remote Management System (LRMS) during Computex 2015, Taipei from June 2nd - 4th. This cloud-based platform is designed to remotely manage Billion's M2M LTE routers, Fixed LTE routers, VoIP gateways, LTE outdoor units, and muliti-service gateways. With its centralized management functionalities, BEC LRMS not only minimizes service deployment and maintenance expenses, but also maximizes the operational productivity and profitability of fleet management and telematics.

 

The graphic displays of the remote management cloud show real-time network measurements to assist fleet owners in monitoring geographically-dispersed fleets and in tracking fleet statuses. BEC LRMS has integrated the display functionality above into its newly-launched industrial-grade LTE M2M router - M1000. Furthermore, BEC LRMS has combined the GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System), OBD (On-Board Diagnostic) and IP Camera in order to detect slowing and stopping motions as well as fatigued-driving. This way, controllers can remotely pause speeding vehicles, ensure the driver's safety, and record UBI (Usage Base Insurance) data. With all the private fleet management data stored and accessible on a single server, service providers could more effectively manage fleet activities specific to their broadband services and offer outstanding reliability and mobility.

 

Aside from fleet management applications, LRMS offers features that allow its operators to view and address end user's LAN settings and security configurations. With tools such as the LTE signal quality measurements (RSSI, RSRP, RSRQ and SINR), network status/APN, location IDs and Cell IDs, service providers can remotely configure various LAN settings such as IP address, DHCP address, and DNS from a cloud-based server. With the provided diagnostic features, BEC LRMS could retrieve the statuses of individual devices, display current LTE RF signal conditions and help to determine the overall performance and quality of the connected devices. Operators can easily monitor LTE bandwidth utilization using the device's MAC address to show scheduled uplink and downlink traffic consumptions for CPE devices. Finally, the real-time connection data enhance the quality of service by allowing technical support staff to quickly perform IP ping tests and reboot the subscriber’s CPE for troubleshooting purposes.
