Billion Electric established the Communication Business Division in 1993. In 2004, the "BILLION" brand was launched, introducing ISDN modems and internet cards globally. The focus shifted towards network equipment, targeting international markets such as Australia, South Africa, Southeast Asia, and Central and South America. In the same year, a subsidiary, BEC Technology Inc., was formally established in the State of Texas, USA, to penetrate the North American market with the localized brand "BEC." BECbyBillion provides a range of products including 5G/LTE commercial Wi-Fi routers, in-vehicle/rail/industrial/electric/outdoor routers, enterprise/telecom routers, and switches for in-vehicle/rail industrial networks. We cater to enterprise private networks, FWA (fixed wireless access), IoT/M2M, mission-critical networks, etc.

Billion Electric: A Story of Perseverance and Innovation

After his tenure at IBM, Mr. Tim Chen chose to return to Billion Electric and establish the Communications Division. Collaborating with COO Mr. Felix Cheng, they ushered in a new era for the company. 


During the early stages of Billion Electric's Telecommunications Division, the team operated from a rented apartment in Hsinchu, using it as both a laboratory and office space. Led by Felix Cheng, the Chief Operating Officer, along with two dedicated engineers, they tirelessly immersed themselves day and night in the development of ISDN communication products. This coincided with the rapid advancements of the Windows operating system, demanding a higher level of technical proficiency to ensure seamless compatibility between ISDN products and PC software. With sheer determination and a deep sense of commitment, these pioneers of the Telecommunications Division successfully crafted top-notch ISDN modem products, gaining traction in the European telecommunications market and establishing themselves as one of the top three ISDN modem manufacturers in Asia. Their efforts were rewarded in 1997 when Billion Electric's ISDN interface card was recognized as the leading communication product by BYTE magazine in Germany, marking a significant milestone and opening doors for the company's expansion into ADSL broadband communication product research and development.

Since 2000, Billion has been investing resources in the research and development (R&D) and original equipment manufacturing (OEM) of ADSL broadband network equipment for prominent networking communication brands. However, the company's founder, Mr. Tim Chen, envisioned imprinting the white and blue "BILLION" logo on their communication products, aiming to establish the brand as a reputable Taiwanese presence worldwide. To achieve this objective, Billion recruited talented professionals from leading domestic and international companies, forming proficient sales and marketing teams dedicated to enhancing the brand's image. In 2004, Billion successfully marketed communication products under the BILLION brands to global telecommunications companies. As a result, the company has since received numerous project proposals and collaboration inquiries.


Excellent product quality, attentive service, and professional after-sales support are the three keys to maintaining a personal brand in the international market. As a testament to Billion's customer-centric approach, in a particular instance, a user reported a failure of a product to our customer service center of a telecommunications company in Thailand. Billion swiftly responded by dispatching technical support engineers to investigate the issue. Upon thorough examination, it was determined that the local telecommunications line was the root cause, and no issues were found on the product itself. Even though the issue fell outside of Billion's direct responsibility, this illustrates the lengths to which Billion goes to guarantee customer satisfaction. Billion's customer-centric approach sets it apart as a trusted brand, prioritizing satisfaction and delivering exceptional products.
