Billion to introduce new “Green Products” with RoHS-compliant
VoIP ADSL2+ and 802.11g ADSL2 router series available for shipment in Q1 2006
BiPAC 7404VGO supports VoIP and VPN , and BiPAC 7300G features the Easy Sign-On (EZSO) technology for simple network configurations
Billion Electric Co., Ltd. (Taiex: #3027), a leading network equipment provider from Asia-Pacific rim, announced the launch of RoHS-compliant ADSL2+ Routers, including the V oIP ADSL2+ Router series ( BiPAC 7404VGP and BiPAC 7404VGO ) , the V oIP ADSL2+ Wireless Router series ( BiPAC 5200G and BiPAC 7300G ), and the ADSL2+ Firewall Router series ( BiPAC 5200 and BiPAC 7300 ) . The first model to be unveiled is the ADSL2+ Wireless Router ( BiPAC 7300G) – a wireless router designed by Billion’s R&D team that not only has a built-in 802.11g WAP and WPA/WPA2 but also features the exclusive Easy Sign-On (EZSO) technology to facilitate ADSL connection for home and SOHO users. Also, BiPAC 7404VGP and BiPAC 7404VGO of the VoIP ADSL2+ Router series with multiple built-in functions support VoIP and PSTN incoming and outgoing call applications, allowing users to benefit from convenient and low-cost phone calls.
The Easy Sign-On (EZSO) technology is an easy-to-configure utility for the Internet connection designed by Billion’s R&D team. It allows users to establish an ADSL connection effortlessly via standard web browser like IE . The router can automatically detect the PPPoE/PPPoA or DHCP protocol for your ADSL connection. Just log in the system with required username and password that is provided by your ISP, the router will automatically establish the Internet connection. This user-friendly design supports all kinds of operating systems.
The BiPAC 7300Gsupports downstream rate up to 12/24 Mbps with ADSL2/2+, 8Mbps with ADSL and upstream rate up to 1 Mbps. Particularly, Annex M standard combined in the model of BiPAC 7300GA supports the latest ADSL2/2+ for higher upload speeds by doubling the upstream data rate. In addition, the router supports Quality of Service (QoS) for Traffic Prioritization and Bandwidth Management. It gives users full control over the traffic prioritization for inbound and outbound data. Priority can be given by the router to ensure important data like gaming packets, P2P file sharing, and video streaming applications can move through the router at lightning speed, even under heavy load. The Quality of Service feature ensures a smooth net connection for inbound and outbound data with minimum traffic congestion. Along with the built-in NAT natural firewall feature, the router also provide s advanced hacker pattern-filtering protection. It can automatically detect and block Denial of Service (DoS) attacks. B uilt with Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) and URL Content Filtering, t he router enables users to d etermine whether or not a data packet is allowed to pass through the firewall to the private LAN.
With integrated 802.11g Wireless Access Point in the router, the device offers a quick yet easy access and mobility to the users among wired network, wireless network, broadband connection (ADSL). In addition to 54 Mbps 802.11g data rate, it is also backward compatible with existing 802.11b equipments. The Wireless Protected Access (WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK) and Wireless Encryption Protocol (WEP) features enhance the security level of data protection and access control via Wireless LAN.
The BiPAC 7404VGPis truly a cost saving VoIP wireless-G ADSL2+ Firewall Router with powerful functionalities integrated into one-single-box. It complies with the most popular VoIP industrial standard, SIP protocol . The built-in two FXS ports allow users to make VoIP calls by connecting the existing telephone sets. The BiPAC 7404VGO is an advanced one-single-box of VoIP ADSL2+ VPN Firewall Router. In addition to the same features as the BiPAC 7404VGP, the BiPAC 7404VGO supports IPSec VPN protocols for office users to establish encrypted private connections over the public Internet u p to 16 simultaneous tunnels. With built-in DES/3DES VPN accelerator, the router enhances IPSec VPN performance significantly and ensures secure data transmission between two or more sites. SOHO and office users can make the most economical and secured VoIP calls over VPN tunnels while enjoying the mobility and high-level security of data communications between headquarters and branch offices . Besides, t hese two VoIP routers support Quality of Service (QoS) feature for users to benefit good quality VoIP calls while enjoying a smooth net connection for inbound and outbound data with minimum traffic congestion.
