Billion Announces Taiwan's First Powerline/802.11g ADSL Router
Package BiPAC 7560G with advanced HomePlug 1.0 and Wireless 802.11g features in addition to high-speed ADSL connection, VPN, and QoS

Billion Electric Co. Ltd. (Taiex: #3027) today announces its Powerline/802.11g ADSL Router, BiPAC 7560G, in CeBIT 2004 held in Hannover, Germany. Billion's BiPAC 7560G, a leading product of its peers, offers a comprehensive set of features including newly-integrated feature, Powerline plus Wireless 802.11g, as well as ADSL connection, VPN, and QoS to ensure its residential and office users the high-speed and secured broadband access via a compact box of network device.

To address the market demand for substitutional device of wireless application in local area network (LAN) due to wall blockings, Billion packages a new product Powerline/802.11g ADSL Router, BiPAC 7560G, by integrating HomePlug 1.0 specification with its product BiPAC 7500G , one of best-buy Wireless products with full features set of Wireless 802.11g, high-speed ADSL, VPN, and QoS, into one box. Billion's BiPAC 7560G turns user's home or office's powerline into 14Mbps LAN, power outlets are viewed as network connection point accordingly. Plus features of Wi-Fi compatible 802.11g and ADSL , u sers can share broadband access with no wire, placing a computer anywhere with flawless, uninterrupted high-speed network access, simply by attaching Billion's Powerline Adaptor or Billion's Wireless Client to your computer. An application demonstration of BiPAC 7560G is arranged 18th of March through 24th of March during CeBIT 2004 in Hannover, Germany.

In addition, the powerful feature of VPN enables Billion's residential and office users to securely connect their LANs to another private network or remotely access LAN over Internet. BiPAC 7560G supports industry standard PPTP, IPSec and L2TP over IPSec including 3DES that establish a private encrypted tunnel over public Internet to ensure data transmission security among multiple sites. With built-in DES/3DES accelerator, Billion's BiPAC 7560G enhances VPN performance significantly for its users.

Set aside from HomePlug 1.0 specification, BiPAC 7560G is an entirely enhanced product on Billion's BiPAC 7560G (Wireless VPN Firewall ADSL Router), which has newly won the honor of Editor's Choice Award by APC in Australia in February. One remarkable note about BiPAC 7500G is that Quality of Service (QoS) feature configured by source and destination IP address protocol and port can throttle the speed at different types of outgoing data pass through the router. Its traffic prioritization function of controlling upstream bandwidth particularly keeps P2P users not to congest upload bandwidth and keeps equal connection sharing for lower bandwidth-consuming users.

According to rollout schedule of Billion's Research & Development, BiPAC 7560G is expected to be delivered in 2 nd quarter this year. A powerline adapter, BiPAC 2060 (Powerline/14Mbps Ethernet Adapter) and a Wireless client, BiPAC 3020G (802.11g PCMCIA Card ) will be also offered in the same timeframe. Both BiPAC 7560G and BiPAC 7500G are displayed in Billion's booth stand in CeBIT 2004 in Hannover, Germany.
