Unveils A Brand-new Series of Internet Security Appliance and Phase in More Offers Additional myGuard Series of Security Routers with 802.11g Wireless and VoIP

(Taiex: #3027), a leading network equipment provider from Asia Pacific rim, today pre-announces in advance of CeBIT 2005 Hannover to market a whole new series of Internet Security Appliance – iBusiness Security Appliance, BiGuard 30 , BiGuard 10 , and BiGuard 2 – to cater the needs of small and medium sized business which requires application-based network solutions at low-capital investment yet integrated with robust VPN and Firewall protection. In addition, by continuous partnership with world-known security software vendor, Trend Micro Inc., to provide Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Parental Controls and more, Billion continues to phase in more security routers, myGuard 7202G , 802.11g Security ADSL2+ Modem/Router for home users, and myGuard 7402VG , VoIP/802.11g Security ADSL2+ Router for SOHO users.

The cutting-edge iBusiness Security Appliance series include BiGuard 30 , BiGuard 10 , and BiGuard 2 . Each of the so-called Billion- Guard devices is integrated with rich Firewall features such as Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI), Denial of Service (DoS) prevention , E -mail alert and logs of attack…etc. to prevent against hackers' attack. All supports with robust VPN (Virtual Private Network) function for office users to build private yet secure network connections up to 30 IPSec tunnels ( BiGuard 30 ) from 2 tunnels ( BiGuard 2 ), as well as Quality of Service to manage bandwidth and prioritize the traffic. BiGuard 10 and BiGuard 2 are suitable for Small Office, Home Office, and mobile workers to connect with head office network, while BiGuard 30 built with 2 WAN ports for auto failover and load balancing enabling network resilience and increased bandwidth is designed for head office to establish corporate network. Rack-mountable case design on BiGuard 30 and BiGuard 10 facilitates in-house MIS personnel to locate the device inside a rack or hung over the wall.
In addition to iBusiness Security Appliance, aiming at network security for residential and SOHO users, Billion continues to announce ADSL2+-capabled myGuard routers powered secured by Trend Micro – myGuard 7202G and myGuard 7402VG . Both models, as prior myGuard 7500GL , are integrated with Trend Micro Home Network Security Service (TMSS) , which packs anti-virus, anti-spam, parental control, anti-hacker, anti-spyware, and privacy protection in a single convenient subscription to protect every PC in home network. TMSS Trend Micro offers Billion MyGuard router users with a 60-day free trial and can then subscribe online. Billion's myGuard router series uniqueness of single point security makes the products well accepted by users when Internet treats are becoming an issue nowadays in home network. With integrated 802.11g Wireless Access Point in the device, both myGuard 7202G and myGuard 7402VG offer quick and easy access among wired network, wireless network and broadband connection (ADSL) with single device simplicity, providing 54 Mbps 802.11g data rate, backward support existing 802.11b equipment. WPA and WEP features imbedded increase the level of data protection and access control for Wireless LAN.
The ADSL standards advance to optional ADSL 2 + with downstream up to 24 Mbps, upstream rate up to 1 Mbps, support by firmware upgrade, and enable user to enjoy even broader bandwidth for access to Internet, multimedia applications such as interactive gaming, video streaming and real-time audio much easier and faster than ever before. myGuard 7202G is designed for advanced home users with value-added Quality of Service feature which gives game users the traffic prioritization and bandwidth management. Yet for SOHO users, myGuard 7402VG is remarkable for its add-on VoIP feature enabling cost-effective toll calls, VPN features support up to 16 IPSec tunnels for end-to-end private network connections, as well as Quality of Service. Especially, IGMP snooping function supports video service.
Not only announcing new products in network security, Billion also unveils its advanced development in Triple Play. “ADSL2+ Triple Play with ISDN Lifeline Support ” themed for its exhibition at CeBIT 2005, Billion's BiPAC 7402VGI represents the technology development that Billion kicks off to integrate video, voice, and data together in network devices over ADSL2+ standards. This debut product features a wider range from SIP-complaint VoIP calls, ISDN lifeline support, wireless 802.11g WPA and WEP, IGMP Snooping for video service, and the likely rollout timeline is later this year.
