Billion Ships First ADSL2+ 54Mbps 802.11g Router – BiPAC 7402G
Truly express-speed, secure, and cable-free to enhance the productivity

Taipei, Taiwan - Billion Electric Co. Ltd. (Taiex: #3027) today announces the initial shipment of first advanced ADSL2+ model to its Wireless Router series – 802.11g VPN Firewall ADSL2+ Router, BiPAC 7402G. Billion’s BiPAC 7402G is an advanced device designed for SOHO and office users. It supports the latest ADSL2+ technology enabling even higher speed of data rate of up to 24Mbps. Its powerful QoS feature for traffic priority and bandwidth management and security features including multiple VPN tunnels with 3DES make the device a perfect mate to SOHO and office user or for anyone who has the compelling needs to transmit sensitive data more efficiently and securely. With integrated 54Mbps 802.11g Access Point in this device, the router brings up the productivity and mobility to office users.

ADSL2+ capability supported in Billion’s BiPAC 7402G brings users the speed. Next-generation of ADSL standard, ADSL2+, offer better data performance – longer reach and higher data rate. The router supports basic downstream rate of 8Mbps with ADSL, capable up to 12 / 24 Mbps with ADSL2 / ADSL2+, and upstream rate up to 1 Mbps. Performance improvement can be available by firmware upgrade to ADSL2 / ADSL2+ standards (Note). Users enjoy not only higher speed via ADSL2+ technology, but also wider broadband multimedia applications such as interactive gaming, video streaming and real-time audio, much easier and faster than ever.

Fast and Responsive Net Connection via Quality of Service (QoS) feature enhances the office productivity. QoS integrated in BiPAC 7402G deployed on DiffServ (Different Service) architecture gives users the full control over data traffic given priority by the router, ensuring important data like gaming packets, customer information, or management information move through the router at lightning speed, even under heavy load. The transmission speed can be throttled both inbound and outbound data passed through the router to ensure P2P users not to saturate uploading bandwidth, or office browsing not bring client web serving to a halt. In addition, the priority type of upload data can be changed in order to let the router sort out the actual speeds.

VPN feature offers secure and private data communication over public Internet. Billion’s BiPAC 7402G supports embedded Virtual Private Network (VPN) protocols for SOHO and Office users to establish private encrypted multiple tunnels over public Internet. Users benefit from the feature of data transmission security among multiple sites for private communications. With built-in DES/3DES accelerator, the router enhances the IPSec VPN performance significantly and office productivity, as a result.

802.11g standard gives SOHO and office users mobility and protection. With widely used 802.11g Wireless Access Point integrated in the router, Billion’s BiPAC 7402G offers a quick and easy access among wired network, wireless network and broadband connection (ADSL) regardless of locations which interpret mobility to the users. Data rate up to 54 Mbps, 802.11g also interoperates backward with existing 802.11b equipments. The Wireless Protected Access (WPA) and Wireless Encryption Protocol (WEP) supported features enhance the security level of data protection and access control via Wireless LAN.

In addition to BiPAC 7402G, Billion also offers a number of economical ADSL2+ models to home users : Pocket-size ADSL2+ Router with Single Ethernet Port (BiPAC 5102S) features firewall DoS and VPN pass through with single Ethernet port, while Pocket-size ADSL2+ Router (BiPAC 5102) is a router of 4-port switch. Compared to BiPAC 7402G, 802.11g ADSL2+ Router (BiPAC 5102G) strategically available in late 1st quarter is a user-friendly model with 802.11g WLAN added on BiPAC 5102.
